Ellis Erosion Control Systems, Inc. Doing Business As Ellis Seeding and Erosion Control, got its start as The Stephen B. Ellis Company in 1967 when Stephen B. Ellis "retired" as a rancher and began a seeding / erosion control company based in Provo, Utah. In 1988, his son Kelly T. Ellis began working with his father. To accomodate the change in control from father to son, Ellis Erosion Control Systems, Inc. was formed in Utah. One of the areas of specialty of EECS is Phragmites Mowing and Control. Phragmites is a genus of four species of large perennial grasses found in wetlands throughout temperate and tropical regions of the world. Phragmites is an invasive species which can be difficult to control or eradicate.Since 1995, Kelly T. Ellis has been the lead contractor and all around "go to" guy with the Company. As such, he has over 25 years of full time service in the seeding and erosion control services industry, with over 15 years running the business. In addition, Kelly also has Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering and a Master's of Business Administration... thereby bringing both hands-on practical skills as well as extensive education to the business. Ellis Erosion Control Systems, Inc performs a wide array of seeding and erosion control services throughout the Intermountain West, specializing in reclamation projects. Phragmites mowing is a growing area of need in this arena.
